Fayette County provides a core group of local incentives that complement incentive programs offered by the State of Georgia. These local incentives are exclusively for projects that will create an incredibly positive impact on the county, usually in relation to jobs or investment. Eligibility for incentives will be determined by FCDA staff, based on submitted project information.
Fayette County and its cities all provide 100% Freeport exemption, an exemption on inventory tax. This means that a business will not be charged inventory tax on raw materials and goods in process, finished goods held by the original manufacturer, and finished goods held by distributors, wholesalers, and manufacturers destined for out-of-state shipment.
Industrial Revenue Bond Financing
Industrial Revenue Bond financing is available through the Development Authority and could provide substantial savings to the prospective company. For manufacturers, these bonds are often at a lower interest rate than many other types of financing and can, under certain circumstances, result in beneficial structuring of property tax payment schedules.
The Development Authority considers new business tax incentives on a case-by-case basis. These incentives are based on positive economic impact on the community criteria for consideration includes the project’s amount of capital investment as well as number and quality of new jobs created.
Peachtree City Quality Jobs Grant
The City of Peachtree City has established a grant program managed by the FCDA where funds can be awarded for companies locating or expanding in the City who meet certain qualifications. Please contact the FCDA for more information.
Peachtree City Less Developed Census Tract job Tax Credit
A portion of the Peachtree city industrial Park is located in a Less Developed Census tract. Companies located in this area who create and fill at least 5 new positions in a calendar year, are eligible for a $3,500 per position tax credit.
