FCDA Tours the new Hartsfield International Terminal
by Matt Forshee • March 16, 2012
Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, though not located in Fayette County, is still a huge part of our local economy.
Fayette County grew tremendously in the 80s and 90s due to our proximity to Hartsfield. We’re only about 20-30 minutes from the airport and a large number of aviation workforce members settled here as the airport was seeing tremendous growth.
Today, international companies look to Fayette as a location for their US operation. We offer an impressive quality of life for international transplants and their workforce, some of the best schools in Georgia, ease of access to market and that ease of access to Hartsfield. International companies based in Fayette can easily access both non-stop and direct domestic and international flights and that access will soon be getting easier with the opening of the new International Terminal.
Members of the FCDA Board of Directors along with local elected officials and the Peachtree City Airport Authority recently were able to tour the new Terminal, which is scheduled to open to the public in May. Below are some photos from the tour.
