April 2008
How’s your economy?
With the state of the national economy being tepid at best, I thought I’d take a look at our local economic successes for this April 2008 edition of the FCDA newsletter.
The first quarter of 2008, was a little slower than the last quarter of 2007, but that often happens. During this time, we had:
- 12 new leads from companies looking at locating or expanding in Fayette County
- 11 proposals to those companies
- 7 of those companies chose to visit with us
- 5 companies chose to make a repeat visit
In December when we launched our new website, we also launched new data tracking software. In the first quarter of the year, we had:
- 2,892 unique website visitors
- 3,827 total visitors
- 29,946 total page views
- 6.52 average pages per visitor
- 74.5% of our visitors were new
- Our visitors spent an average of 3minutes and 50 seconds on our site
- After our home page, our jobs listings are our most visited page, followed by our properties listings and our demographics pages.
- We had visitors from 48 different countries.
Below, you’ll see stories about some successful parts of our Fayette County economy, including an award for one and a Diamond Anniversary (that’s 60th) for another.
You’ll also see some stories on areas where we can grow our economy in Fayette to make it even better than it is.
We also have a story on Governor Perdue visiting with one of our local company’s international parent.
Hope you have a great May.
-Matt

April 10, 2008 | Matt Forshee

Peachtree City, the largest city in Fayette County, is most famously known for its use of golf carts as an alternative transportation device to get around the city. Considering the cost of gas, people here can save a lot on their daily drives around town. It’s one of the features that makes this a great, and unique, place to live.
