Dr. Bryan Edwards

Dr. Bryan Edwards is retired from Clayton State University where his most recent position was as Vice President for External Relations. He previously served as Dean and Executive Director of Continuing Education and Community Outreach and as Director of Continuing Education at Clayton State, with his overall career at the University encompasing 23 years. Before his time at CSU, Dr. Edwards also served as Director of the Baptist Center at the University of Georgia for 16 years.

Dr. Edwards has a Bachelor’s Degree from Presbyterian College, a Master’s of Divinity from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and a Doctorate of Education from the University of Georgia.

Dr. Edwards was heavily involved in the planning, design and construction of the Gateway Village Project at CSU. He has been involved with many local and national charities and community service organizations including the United Way of Metro Atlanta, American Cancer Society of Georgia, Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce, Fayette County Chamber of Commerce, the Joseph Sams School, the Georgia Adult Education Association and the Metro Atlanta Private Industry Council of the Atlanta Regional Committee. He currently serves as a Rotarian and is a founding member of the Southern Crescent Leadership Association.

Dr. Edwards currently serves as a Board member on the Clayton State university Foundation. He is a lifetime member of the Blue Key National Honor Society and he is a recipient of the Distinguished Service to Georgia Adult Education Award.

Dr. Edwards is married Dr. Norma Edwards. Together, they hold the distinction of receiving their Doctorates at the same graduation ceremony from the University of Georgia. Drs. Bryan and Norma Edwards have two grown children and divide their residence time between a home in Fayette County and a condo in Midtown Atlanta.
