Matt Forshee

President/CEO

Matt Forshee serves as the President and CEO of the Fayette County Development Authority (FCDA).

His responsibilities include directing county wide marketing and recruitment efforts for new businesses and industries to Fayette County and three of its five municipalities (Fayetteville, Peachtree City and Tyrone).

This involves both national and international recruitment of companies such as small to mid-sized corporate headquarters and advanced manufacturers in the fields of plastics and polymers, aerospace, back office support companies, contract manufacturers, metals, electronics and niche distributors.

Due to Fayette’s close proximity to Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, a key recruitment focus is also on international companies wishing to set up their first US facility.

Prior to joining FCDA, Matt was the Director of Economic Development for Oconee County, Georgia where he directed that county’s marketing and recruitment efforts, specializing in life science and advanced manufacturing company recruitment. Matt’s diverse career in economic and community development has included stints in both public and private practice, serving as both a Planning Director and an Economic Development Director for local government, an economic development consultant and designing residential and commercial developments in a Land Planning firm.

Matt is a graduate of the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture. He is currently working toward receiving designation as a Certified Economic Developer from the International Economic Development Council. He is a member of numerous professional organizations including the Georgia Economic Developers Association (GEDA), the Southeastern Economic Developers Council (SEDC), the International Economic Development Council (IEDC), the American Planning Association (APA) the Urban Land Institute (ULI) and the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA). Matt is also a 2007 Graduate of the Atlanta Regional Leadership Institute.

Matt and his wife Allison have two children. The family resides in Fayette County.
