Fayette Works 8th Grade Career Expo Seeks Employers, Professionals, and Practitioners to Inspire Middle School Students
Peachtree City, GA (November 17, 2025)
The Fayette Works 8th Grade Career Expo will once again bring together approximately 1,500 students from all Fayette County public middle schools for three days of hands-on, interactive learning across twelve high-demand career worlds. Hosted at the Center of Innovation in Peachtree City, February 25–27, 2026, the Expo is designed to connect students with real-world career pathways that are essential to the future of Georgia’s workforce.
“Fayette Works gives our students the opportunity to imagine their futures in industries that are not only vital to Fayette County’s long-term success but also capable of transforming their lives,” said Amanda Fields, Vice President of Economic Development at the Fayette County Development Authority.
Employers, professionals, and skilled practitioners can play a pivotal role in making the Expo possible by volunteering as Career Presenters who provide demonstrations, lead activities, and engage directly with students. Presenters gain valuable visibility among educators, parents, community leaders, and the emerging workforce.
Throughout the event, students rotate through immersive, activity-based stations representing 12 career worlds, including:
- Healthcare
- Advanced Manufacturing
- Engineering
- Information Technology
- Public Safety
- Utilities
- Aviation & Aerospace
- Entertainment
- Sports
- Tourism
- Construction & Heavy Equipment
- Logistics
These sectors represent some of the most rapidly evolving and strategically important industries shaping Fayette County’s economy, and many are facing critical workforce shortages. By engaging students early, Fayette Works helps them explore potential career paths, make informed decisions about their high school coursework, and prepare for life after graduation as workforce-ready young adults.
“When students can see, touch, and experience these careers firsthand, it opens doors they may never have realized were available to them,” Fields added. “The Expo strengthens the talent pipeline for our community while empowering students with real options and real inspiration.”
